About us

nProjekt, founded in 2018, is a nomadic art initiative with roots in Hong Kong that explores new methodologies in artistic and curatorial research, exhibition-making, and cross-cultural engagement. Committed to building meaningful connections between like-minded artist-run spaces, artists, and curators, nProjekt seeks to challenge conventional exhibition formats by creating collaborative, site-responsive projects across diverse countries and regions.

Since its inception, nProjekt has curated and presented five distinct series — Under•Line, Non-Solo, Inter•Phase, Remembrance, and Non-Local Non-Solo — in 16 cities across 10 countries, in partnership with 19 artist-run spaces. Its projects have showcased a wide range of artistic practices, fostering international dialogue and cultural exchange.

Under•Line, the debut series launched in 2018, reimagines exhibition-making by working closely with international artist-run spaces to create environment-responsive and experimental shows. This series has travelled to cities including Rotterdam, Tokyo, Sydney, Lisbon, and Trondheim.

Non-Solo, introduced in 2021, challenges the conventional solo exhibition format by facilitating cross-disciplinary collaborations between lead and guest artists. The series has featured 6 lead artists and 19 guest artists, expanding the notion of individual creative practice into collective and cross-media expression.

Remembrance, inaugurated with Seeds of Remembrance in 2022, reflects on themes of diaspora, memory, and belonging, engaging with the personal and collective memories of artists and their connection to home.

Inter•Phase, launched in 2022, investigates the fluid boundaries between nature and culture, inviting artists to explore ecological and environmental themes through interdisciplinary approaches.

Non-Local Non-Solo, the most recent series, is a cultural exchange programme designed to connect artists and curators from diverse geographical contexts. The 2024 programme, for example, fosters intercultural dialogue between Hong Kong, Barcelona, and Buenos Aires.

With no permanent roster of artists, nProjekt is led by curator Jamsen Law and core member Lee Suet Ying, who work with a rotating group of artists selected for each project’s thematic and conceptual focus. Together, they create a dynamic and evolving platform that continuously redefines the possibilities of art-making and exhibition practice in an increasingly globalised world.
